Parent/Caregiver Class 8-Week or 6-Week
Starts On-Demand.
Collaborative Problem SolvingĀ® Parent/Caregiver Class Parents/caregivers are invited to join this class to learn the Collaborative Problem SolvingĀ® (CPS) approach to support their child and prevent challenging behaviours. During this class you will: - Understand why children sometimes struggle to meet day-to-day expectations. - Learn the CPS approach to addressing conflicts in a way that reduces challenging behaviours, improves relationships, and teaches critical skills. - Practice addressing problems before things become escalated between you and your child. - Connect with other parents in a compassionate and non-judgmental setting. When registering, you are signing up for six weeks. Learning builds upon the previous session's content. An online workbook to supplement the learning this class will be provided. After-class activities, and opportunities for questions and answers will be a part of this highly interactive parent class. Adapted from www.thinkkids.org. Classes may be organized online or in-person. Pricing will depend on delivery and size of the class. Classes will run once per week for six weeks. Classes are 2 hours each. It is admirable that you are considering learning this approach as a parent of a child who shows challenging behaviour. We are confident that your time and attention to learning this approach will have a positive impact on you and your family. Alberta residents only. Registration is ongoing. Please indicate your interest by emailing matt@newlightlearning.ca. Similar to a Tier 1 Training, participants will be eligible for Tier 2 Training in CPS if they attend all sessions of the Parent Class. Organizations interested in sponsoring a parent class for their organization can arrange this by contacting matt@newlightlearning.ca.
